Furry Tails: Mr. Elvis, Gary & Storm Are Waiting For Forever Homes

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Animal Friends Pet Profile:
Mr. Elvis is a 9-month-old gray Lionhead bunny who will hop right into your heart. This very friendly bunny was brought to us by a Good Samaritan who found him as a stray. This little guy is a mover and a shaker as he is very curious and likes to check everything out. When he's not too busy hip-hopping about, he enjoys some attention and petting time from people.

So if you're swooning over this cute bunny, like only a boy carrying the name of the king of rock can make people swoon, come meet him today!

If you can help, come to Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237 or call 412-847-7002. For more information on how you can adopt any of the pets at Animal Friends, visit their website here!

Gary

Animal Rescue League

Meet Gary the bunny! What a great name for a bunny! Gary has good manners, loves to play and cuddle, but most of all he loves a good meal! Is he the food connoisseur for you?

Animal Rescue League Pet Profile:
Gary is the perfect bunny for first-time rabbit owners. He's a 1½-year-old Florida White with a wonderful personality and will sit with you for as long as you want to be near him. He's not super keen on being picked up, but he settles in once he feels safe. Gary was surrendered to the Animal Rescue League because of the declining health of his owner who could no longer properly care for him. This guy is spending some time in a foster home where his foster mom loves having him as a guest. He has very good litter box habits and is very fun to play with. And boy does he love his greens. He even stands up to watch them coming! Gary likes to toss his willow ball, jump on book crates, and is perfectly content to hang out on a blanket while his foster mom works on her computer. Though he'd rather hang out on the couch with you than be carried around, this bunny is very smart and understands 'kennel' when it is time for him to go back in his exercise pen. Gary is an excellent rabbit for someone who wants a bunny-buddy to hang out with or someone new to bunnies.

Western Pa. Humane Society Pet Profile:
Hi, my name is Storm! I just arrived at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, the staff here are still in the process of getting to know me so they can write a better profile. I am a very sweet lovely lady who seeks attention. I know sit and I am always willing to learn new tricks!! I can have a bit of a puppyish behavior when I get too excited so the behavior specialist recommends I go to training classes which are offered here at the Western PA Humane Society. It's a great way to bond too!!! I do have some mild resource guarding with food that can easily be managed in a teen/adult home. Please ask a staff member the importance of hand feeding and how helpful it can be. I could possibly go to a multi-dog home pending a successful meet and greet.

What I can also tell you is that I have been behaviorally and medically evaluated, altered, microchipped, and am up to date on all my vaccinations. The staff is getting me all ready to go home with someone wonderful… maybe you?

Even though I have been here for a very short time, the two-leggers who work and volunteer here have been extra nice and kind to me. I am getting lots of love and attention from our staff and volunteers.
