Man Accused Of Attempted Robbery, Assault In Hempfield Township

HEMPFIELD TWP. (KDKA) - Police say a man tried to rob someone at gunpoint in Hempfield Township Friday.

It happened in the 1000 block of School House Lane.

Officers say David William Peterson, 18, got into a fight with someone over a past issue and pulled a revolver on them. He put the gun to the victim's neck and tried to get money by threatening to kill him.

Peterson then got into a car with two other people and fired one shot, but the victim was not hit.

He is charged with attempted robbery and aggravated assault with a weapon.
