Terminally-Ill Canonsburg Teen Marries High School Sweetheart

CANONSBURG (KDKA) -- A Canonsburg teen with terminal cancer has married his high school sweetheart with the help of their hometown.

CBS News reports that 18-year-old Luke Blanock and 19-year-old Natalie Britvich tied the knot two months after Luke found out that his cancer is terminal.

He suffers from Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer. Since his diagnosis two years ago, he has undergone 24 rounds of chemo, more than 100 radiation treatments and two surgeries.

But, Luke has not let cancer keep him from enjoying his life, and marrying the girl he loves.

"They're young; but their love is mature beyond their years," wedding planner Ashley Cyprowski told CBS News. "They've gone through so much that couples twice their age don't have to go through."

His parents have set up a GoFundMe page for their son, part of the funds going towards the wedding ceremony that was planned in just one month.

"Natalie was the one who made the majority of the decisions," Cyprowski joked. "Luke was only concerned about the cake and the food."

With an outpouring of support from their small hometown of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and more than 20 businesses, the couple had the beautiful ceremony they deserved.

Guests laughed and cried tears of joy throughout the wedding.
