Kris Letang And Son Participate In “Skating For Little Hearts”

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A Pittsburgh Penguin spent his Sunday on the ice with some special kids.

Kris Letang was all smiles as he participated in “Skating For Little Hearts” at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.

The event was not only adorable, it was for a great cause. It benefits the Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

The Penguins defenseman was not the only Letang on the ice. His son, Alex, joined him.

The event Chairperson told KDKA the event hits close to home.

“Ethan is my godson, and seven years ago he was a patient at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, and they saved his life,” said Karen Pesich.

Letang was the honorary chairman for the second annual event. The Pittsburgh Penguins tweeted that he had a great time.

“It was special to skate with the kids. To give back like this is an easy task.”

“Skating For Little Hearts” raised more than $30,000.
