State Trooper Sustains Broken Leg When Man Resists Arrest

WASHINGTON COUNTY (KDKA) -- A Pennsylvania State Police trooper sustained a broken leg while a man was resisting arrest not long after midnight Sunday morning.

Pennsylvania State Police say 39-year-old Shawn Lamonde of McDonald, Pa., was being taken into custody after causing a disturbance at the Meadows Casino in Washington County around 12:30 a.m. Lamonde was resisting arrest, and the state trooper sustained a broken leg as a result.

Lamonde was sent to the Washington County Booking Center and is awaiting arraignment. His charges include aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and simple assault.
