ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Two men in their 60's are in police custody after robbing a First Niagara Bank branch in Ross Township at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon.

The robbery happened just before 3 p.m. at the bank on McKnight Road.

Ross Township Police are now identifying the suspects as 64-year-old Albert Clemons and 61-year-old Douglas Silva, both of the North Side.

Det. Brian Kohlhepp, of the Ross Township Police, said, "There were customers and employees in the bank at the time, but no one was hurt and no shots were fired."

One suspect was arrested while still in the car. The second jumped out, carrying the bank money, and ran down a hillside behind the VFW hall.

Post Commander John Stack said as the suspect was trying to make his getaway, money was blowing all over the hillside.

The second suspect was taken into custody after being found behind a tree. Police scoured the hillside retrieving as much of the stolen cash as they could find.

Police also recovered the two handguns used in the robbery.

Both are facing robbery and weapons charges, but Silva is also facing charges related to the chase.
