Pa. Babysitter To Serve Up To 7 Years For Infant's Death

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania woman will serve up to seven years in prison over the death of a 3-month-old girl she was baby-sitting.

The Public Opinion reports that Chambersburg resident Rosanna Desinor reached a deal with prosecutors and pleaded no contest Monday to voluntary manslaughter in the death of Kaendra Destinvil. She was originally charged with homicide.

The 19-year-old Desinor was sentenced to 3 ½ to seven years in state prison.

Police say Desinor was baby-sitting Kaendra in August 2014 when she lost her temper because of the child's crying.

Police say she struck the baby several times in the head. Police also say she dropped the child while carrying her from a bedroom.

Authorities say Desinor then put Kaendra back to bed, where she was later found unresponsive.
