Pittsburgh Named One Of Nation's Top 10 Downtowns
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh has been named on a list of the top downtowns.
Livability.com listed the 'Burgh as number five on a list of ten best downtown cities in the country.
1. Alexandria, VA
2. Santa Monica, CA
3. Greenville, SC
4. Bellevue, WA
5. Pittsburgh, PA
6. Boise, ID
7. Tempe, AZ
8. Plano, TX
9. Colorado Springs, CO
10. Evanston, IL
To choose the best downtowns, the editors looked at cities with low vacancy rates, new development and an influx of people into those places. They also examined nightlife, cultural attractions, affordability and diversity.
The website raves about the Steel City's spot on the list, saying that "Pittsburgh's downtown area remains a vibrant mix of culture, arts and innovation."
Parks, concerts and Market Square are also listed among the reasons the city was picked out for recognition.
