PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There is good news at the bald eagles nest in Harmar Township.
The Audubon Society says the pair welcomed their first egg Wednesday at 4:22 p.m.

Unfortunately, because of the terrain in that area and the size of the tree the nest is in, the Audubon Society says there is no way to get an unobstructed view into the nest.
That also means there is no way to know if the eagles lay any other eggs, unless the camera angle is just right.

According to the Audubon Society, the incubation period lasts about 35 days.
In the meantime, the eagles will remain in the nest, turning the egg to make sure the temperature stays constant, says the Audubon Society.
There are also three eggs at the bald eagles' nest in the city's Hays section. Experts say they expect the first egg there to hatch on or around March 19.
