Crime Stoppers: Police, Family Seek Justice In 2010 Homewood Murder

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Six years after a local man was murdered in Homewood, his loved ones are still waiting for justice and still trying to cope with the loss.

Bill Ford, 31, was shot and killed on a cold February day back in 2010. The father of two was shot multiple times in a home in the 7200-block of Frankstown Avenue in Homewood.

His mother, Veronica Martin, says, "We deserve, like all parents who lose children, we deserve closure."

Pittsburgh Homicide Detective James McGee said it happened the day before Valentine's Day when Ford was driving to see his girlfriend in Penn Hills.

"On the way there, he got a phone call from friends in Homewood, they wanted him to stop by and visit them," Detective McGee said.

Police say Ford went to the house, but when he left the home, he was shot and killed.

Detective McGee says investigators are working on the assumption Ford knew his killers.
