Food Porn: Study Finds Instagramming Your Food Makes It Taste Better

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – You can't scroll through your social media feeds without seeing them, photos of what other people are eating.

But according to new studies, those food snapshots posted to Instagram could actually make it taste better.

Researchers from the University of San Diego, and Saint Joseph's University conducted the studies with more than 120 people.

During the experiments, the subjects were issued an indulgent food, like red velvet cake, and told to take a photo of it before eating it, or eat it immediately.

The same instructions were given to people for a healthier alternative like fruit salad.

Those who took a photo of the red velvet cake before eating it perceived it to taste better than those were just ate it immediately.

On the other hand, those who got the fruit salad noted no difference.
