Crews Put Out Fire In Apartment Above Capital Grille Restaurant

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A three-alarm fire in an apartment building above the Capital Grille sent crews to Piatt Place in downtown Pittsburgh Friday evening.

The fire was first reported around 7:30 p.m.

According to Public Safety officials, firefighters found the fire in a kitchen area of one of the apartments on the sixth floor.

The sprinkler system came on and helped to contain it.

No injuries were reported, and crews remained on scene after putting out the fire to ventilate the building and assess the damages.

The cause is under investigation.
