Kansas, N. Carolina, Virginia, Oregon Win No. 1 Seed

UNDATED (AP) - There's always controversy when the field is announced for the NCAA Tournament and this year is no different as Michigan State, the nation's second-ranked team and champion of the Big Ten, was skipped over for a top seed while ACC runner-up Virginia was given a No. 1.

The breakdown of top-seeds looks like this. In the East the top-seed is North Carolina while in the South it's Kansas with Virginia first in the Midwest and Oregon No. 1 in the West.

The overall No. 1 seed is Kansas.

Being a regional top-seed is nothing new to the North Carolina and Kansas programs. For the Tar Heels this is the 15th time the school has been so honored while for Kansas this marks the 12th time. Virginia has been tabbed as a No. 1 five times while for Oregon this is the second time.
