2 Juvenile Suspects Shot During Home Invasion In Jeannette

JEANNETTE (KDKA) - Police say four juvenile boys have been arrested after trying to break into a Westmoreland County home Tuesday night. Two were shot and wounded by a man inside the home.

According to police, the incident happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Chestnut Street in Jeannette.

Police said two 16-year-olds, a 15-year-old and a 13-year-old tried to break in through a window.  A 21-year-old man and his girlfriend were home at the time. The man allegedly fired a .380-caliber handgun four to six times at the teenagers and hit two of them.

Police said one of the injured teens was found on a bridge about a half mile away. He was shot in his leg, but is expected to be okay. The 13-year-old suspect was also shot in the leg, but police said it was a graze wound and nothing life-threatening.

It's unknown if any of the alleged intruders were armed.

Jeanette Police arrested the two others involved as well and they were taken immediately to the Westmoreland County Juvenile Detention Center.

The teenagers are facing a charge of attempted burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.

At this time, it is undetermined if the man who shot at the teens will face any charges.
