Washington HS Student Accused Of Assaulting Classmate Inside School

WASHINGTON COUNTY (KDKA) -- A Washington High School student is in jail, facing charges for an alleged sexual assault of another student, inside the school.

The student was arrested Wednesday. He's being held in the Washington County Jail, accused of assaulting a 14-year-old student.

According to reports, 19-year-old D'Andre Graffinread and the 14-year-old went into a storage room inside the gym at Washington High School Tuesday morning. The 14-year-old told police Graffinread began kissing her neck. She told him to stop and pushed him away and that's when he grabbed her arm and pushed her head and forced her to perform a sexual act.

Police say school officials questioned the two teens about why they weren't where they were supposed to be Tuesday morning, and that's when Graffinread admitted what happened.

Graffinread reportedly told police he thought the girl was 16, not 14. He's being held in the Washington County Jail with a $25,000 straight bond.

The Washington County School Superintendent, Roberta Dilorenzo, told KDKA by phone that the district didn't issue a statement to parents, but they are cooperating with police as part of the investigation.

Graffinread's preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 5.
