Guns 'N Roses Coming To Heinz Field In July

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- After months of speculation, it's now official. Rock music fans around the world will get the chance to see Guns N' Roses take the stage once again.

Pittsburgh has been announced as a stop on the reunited band's massive North American summer stadium tour.

"I'm very excited," Neil Hawkins of East Liverpool, Ohio, said.

But there's a big question on the minds of fans.

"Is Axl gonna show up on time? That's the big question," Dan Derrington, also of East Liverpool, said.

It's also the question pop music critic Scott Mervis, with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, is asking.

"He sometimes just doesn't show up, or this tour could blow up any minute. One person says the wrong thing, and this tour could blow up," Mervis said.

The band formed in 1985, but split up eight years later. They have a history that Mervis says is hard to let go of.

"There's been a lot of acrimony among the members. Axl Rose is not the easiest guy in the world to get along with. It's been years since he and Slash have been able to work together," Mervis said.

Duff McKagan will perform alongside Axl Rose and Slash when their "2016 Not in this Lifetime Tour" stops at Heinz Field on July 12.

"I mean, it's still them. Part of them are still there," Nick Knighton, of Beaver Falls, said.

"I'd probably pay full ticket price to hear them play, like, 'Estranged.' If I heard 'Sweet Child O' Mine' one more time, I'd probably jump in the river," Derrington said.

Guns N' Roses hasn't been to Pittsburgh since 1992 when they played Three Rivers Stadium.

"I was at that concert, second row," Debbie Chesnick, of Beaver Falls, said.

The band has certainly aged a bit since then.

"I think people are going to want to see what it looks like on YouTube. See what the members look like. What they sound like. Feel it out first," Mervis said.

"Age doesn't matter," Chesnick said.
