Mysterious Man Raising Safety Concerns In Pine-Richland School District

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- The Pine-Richland School District has put out a safety message to parents about a mysterious man who has been showing up on the campus of one of their elementary schools.

According to district officials, the man came to Richland Elementary School both Thursday and today, and became disgruntled when staff members approached him.

The Northern Regional Police Department is now looking for the man.

He is described as a white male in his late-40s to early-50s and was clean shaven. He was wearing a white shirt and yellow hat.

He was last seen walking up Ridge Road in Richland Township.

On Friday afternoon, district officials decided to cancel outdoor activities and recess for Richland Elementary and Eden Hall Upper Elementary School students as a safety precaution.

Some students who were already outside were brought back in, the district says.

Police are also increasing patrols in the area. Also, officials are asking parents to keep a more watchful eye on their kids and remind them about stranger danger.
