Man Runs Into Stranger's Home After Penn Hills Police Chase

PENN HILLS (KDKA)- One man is under arrest after a bizarre police chase that started in Pittsburgh and ended in Penn Hills Friday morning.

Officers attempted to pull over a Lexus around 2 a.m. that failed to signal while turning onto Hamilton Avenue from Fifth Avenue.

"Our officers have tried to stop this vehicle on more than one occasion," said Zone 5 Commander Jason Lando. "They did not pursue it the last time, but they saw the vehicle again and attempted to stop it. The driver engaged in the same behavior, but this time he nearly struck an officer."

This time, the car stopped in front of a vacant lot in the 100 block of Enterprise Street. As officers approached the vehicle, the driver took off. The suspects drove over a sidewalk, across Frankstown Avenue and onto Lowell Street.

The officers stopped their pursuit after the suspects blew through a red light and an intersection.

A second police unit spotted the car near the intersection of Paulson Avenue and Derry Street. Once again, the suspects took off and police did not pursue.

At 2:10 a.m., the officers that initially attempted to pull over the vehicle spotted the suspects on Somerset Street. Officers exited the vehicle when it appeared a collision was unavoidable. One officer was nearly hit by the Lexus.

The suspects backed up and turned onto Joshua Street, where officers briefly gave chase. However, the chase was called off due to slick road conditions.

The vehicle was eventually spotted on Torrance Avenue in Penn Hills, which is a dead end. At that time, the driver fled on foot into the woods. He is still on the run.

One of the passengers in the car stayed inside and was questioned and released.

A second passenger in the car jumped out and ran into a nearby home. Officers found Dalemar Satchell, 23, of Penn Hills in an upstairs bedroom. He was arrested and charged with burglary.

"The third occupant ran into a house, which we found out did not belong to him, kicked the back door in," said Commander Lando. "The homeowner came out and let us in. We searched the house and found the man hiding in a bedroom."

Officers are working on identifying the driver of the car. When he's arrested, he'll face a long list of charges.
