Protesters, Volunteers Visit Donald Trump Pa. Campaign Headquarters

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) -- Protesters and volunteers visited Donald Trump's Pennsylvania campaign headquarters in Monroeville this weekend.

The office opened Friday in the Jonnet Building on Route 22. On Saturday, volunteers signed up to make calls, canvas neighborhoods and speak at events.

While supporters gathered inside, demonstrators outside chanted, "sexist, anti-gay, Donald Trump, go away!" One protester, Susan Salotti, explained why she felt she should be a part of the rally.

"I think it is important for people to see that they have a choice, and they don't have to accept racism and sexism and hate. It's more important to pay attention to what's right in the world, and positivity and accepting people rather than chasing them out," Salotti said.

Sarah Bossart, a Trump supporter, credited Trump's experience in the business world for why she was at the office, and why she wanted to vote for him.

"We need someone for president who knows how to run a business, and I think Donald Trump knows how to run a business," she said.

Bossart also said she was there because of her gender.

"The news media filling us in, saying women don't support Trump, but I do, I'm one woman and there's a whole lot of women in this room today," she said.

The Pennsylvania primary election will take place on Apr. 26.
