Couple Facing Charges After Child Found Bruised And Unresponsive

WHITE OAK (KDKA) -- A woman and her boyfriend were in court Monday, facing charges stemming from a child being found bruised and unresponsive in a crib.

In March, police reported that Jay Rocco found his girlfriend's daughter unresponsive in her crib in White Oak.

The child had been in the care of her mother, 23-year-old Samantha Krimm.

According to police, the baby had bruises on her chest and stomach as well as internal bleeding and bruises on her lungs and pancreas.

The hearing Monday was postponed because the defense indicated that there was new evidence in the case.

Rocco's family claimed that there is evidence from a jail house phone conversation that implicates Krimm.

His sister Christine Rocco was furious, as she spoke to reporters outside the courthouse.

"You're going to admit to it on a jail phone call, but you won't admit to it now? So, yeah, that's why I'm mad," she said.

Krimm is free on bail, while Jay Rocco is being held at the county jail on probation violation.
