Man Accused Of Threatening Pregnant Ex-Wife With Baseball Bat, Body Slamming Her

PENN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A Westmoreland County man has been arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting and body slamming his pregnant ex-wife who was trying to pick up her young son.

Police have charged Allan Beech, of Penn Township, with counts of simple assault and harassment.

According to the criminal complaint, the incident happened back on March 18 when Penn Township Police were called to Beech's home on Dry Dam Road for a domestic dispute.

The criminal complaint says Beech came out of his home with a baseball bat when the victim stopped by to pick up another one of her children.

Investigators say the victim, who was eight months pregnant at the time, tried to get around Beech to get into the house, and that's when he's accused of grabbing her tightly around the waist.

The criminal complaint reports Beech then allegedly picked the victim up and "slammed her on the ground." She was able to get up, but investigators say Beech allegedly grabbed her again, placed her arms behind her back and "escorted her outside again, pushing her to the ground."

The victim reported severe pain in her waist and lower back from the incident, so she was taken to Excela Westmoreland Hospital for treatment.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim also told police Beech left his home after the incident and was going to her home to "beat up her current boyfriend."

Westmoreland County Sheriff's deputies tracked down Beech Wednesday and took him into custody at an outlet mall in Hempfield Township where he works.

He is now being held in the Westmoreland County Jail on $25,000 bond.

The criminal complaint says a witness also saw the whole incident at Beech's home.
