Man Arrested In Thefts At Duquesne University Rec Center Locker Room

DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY (KDKA)- A man has been arrested for allegedly sneaking into a Duquesne University recreation center and stealing students' wallets.

Police say 29-year-old Ryan Davin illegally entered the Power Center at Duquesne on two occasions. Students must have a valid school ID to enter the recreation center.

According to the criminal complaint, Davin entered the center illegally on April 15 and ended up stealing a student's wallet from the second floor locker room. Davin is accused of using a credit card in the wallet to charge more than $211 worth of items at the CVS Pharmacy in Oakland.

On April 20, police say Davin did the same thing at the Power Center. He went up to the second floor locker room and stole the wallets of two students. One of the students had more than $413 charged on his debit and credit cards at CVS in Oakland. The other student's credit card was charged for $316 at the same CVS location.

Police obtained surveillance video of Davin using the stolen credit cards at the CVS Pharmacy in Oakland.  The cameras also showed that a man and a woman were with Davin, when he was buying prepaid credit cards at the store.

Police were alerted on Thursday that Davin was back inside the Power Center and inside the second floor locker room again. When officers arrived, Davin was leaving the locker room. Officers were able to take him into custody without incident.

Davin was booked into the Allegheny County Jail on charges of criminal trespassing, burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.
