Man To Stand Trial In Case Of Fatal Shooting Over Car Keys

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A man accused of fatally shooting a family member in an argument about a set of keys will stand trial.

Joshua Moss, 28, appeared in court today for a preliminary hearing. Moss is facing homicide charges stemming from the April 17 incident.

According to police, Moss and 22-year-old Robert Kramer Jr. were arguing over a set of car keys at a family party. Family members said alcohol played a role.

"They were drinking, they were drunk," said Dana, whose 10-year-old daughter witnessed the murder. "It was over a set of keys. Somebody wouldn't give somebody their set of keys and this is what happened."

Dana went on to say that the two were at a family member's house in Westland. More than a dozen family members were there for a cookout.

"They tend to hang out together on the back porch, they started drinking too much and he shot him," she said.

According to the affidavit, Moss told police he initially went after Kramer with a knife, but family members separated the two.

That's when he allegedly retrieved the gun in his home and shot Kramer in the chest.

"He went into the home and he grabbed the shotgun, and one shot, and killed the victim," said Trooper Robin Mungo, of Pennsylvania State Police.

Kramer died of a single gunshot wound to the neck and chest.

Moss allegedly told police in an interview that this never should have happened. Moss will stand trial on charges of homicide and unlawful possession of a firearm.
