Suspects Sought After 2 Racing Bikes Stolen From Canonsburg Shop

CANONSBURG (KDKA) - Thieves stole a pair of racing motorcycles during an early Wednesday morning break-in at a bike shop.

According to police, the incident happened at Barnes Brothers Motorcycles & Off-Road in Canonsburg around 3:30 a.m.

The owner said the crooks likely knew exactly what they were doing and what they were looking for.

However, police have a pretty decent idea of how it all went down, thanks to an advanced security system.

"The guys broke the camera off and then broke in through this window, which you can see wouldn't be a real easy task," Blake Barnes said.

Once inside, one of the men ran to the front of the store and grabbed two KTM racing bikes.

Each one was worth about $4,100.

"It's unbelievable, it's terrible. We work really hard here to make our living, constantly we're open, a ton of hours, everyone is always here earlier and works late and to have that taken out from under us, it's just unbelievable," Barnes said.

Barnes said the store's 15 surveillance cameras captured a play-by-play of the entire burglary.

He said three men were involved.

"Our alarm system went off the second the guys got in and the cops were able to get here not too long afterwards, but these guys knew what they were doing and within a couple of minutes were gone," Barnes said.

One of the suspects took the two racing bikes and pushed them right out the front door.

At that point, all three men loaded the bikes into the back of a small U-Haul and took off.

Police arrived about two minutes later.

Barnes said it's obvious the burglars knew exactly what they wanted.

"The fact that they came in and didn't look at anything else, didn't touch anything else, bee-lined straight to these bikes all the way up here and straight out the door," Barnes said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
