Police Seek Suspect In 2013 Murder Outside Elk's Club

BEAVER FALLS (KDKA) -- Beaver County authorities are looking for 34-year old Eric Washington, and say they hope his family will convince him to surrender.

He's wanted for the shooting death of Jerome Goosby and wounding of Wally Pickens outside the Brighton Pioneer Lodge also known as the Elk's Club in April of 2013.

"The shooter continued firing, he hit Wally Pickens in the buttocks and fatally struck Jerome Goosby in the chest," said District Attorney David Lozier.

The shooting was caught on video surveillance. Police say it took them a while to identify a suspect because no one was willing to come forward with information.

"Eric Washington was known to be a friend of Jerome Goosby, the deceased, but he had a dispute with Wally Pickens," said Lozier.

Police say Goosby and Pickens were leaving the spot around 3 a.m. when the gunfire began.

Goosby died at the scene, Pickens was wounded but managed to run away.

"Wally Pickens has identified Eric Washington as the man who shot both he and Jerome Goosby," Lozier said.

Authorities say Eric Washington was seen on video surveillance wearing the same clothing at several locations and police recovered a cell phone near the scene that contained Washington's DNA. The District Attorney says Pickens' statement along other witness accounts led to the arrest.

KDKA spoke with Jerome Goosby's mother the day after the shooting in 2013.

"You took my baby's life. Why. I want know why," she said.
