Teen Charged With Attempted Homicide In Marshall-Shadeland Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A 16-year-old is charged with a shooting that occurred Saturday in Marshall-Shadeland.

Police say Daniel Mowry shot 30-year-old Ryan Myers just before 7:30 p.m. on Rothpletz Street.

Myers was shot three times in the stomach while sitting in his car.

A witness who had been in the passenger seat told police Mowry asked them if they "wanted to buy some dope," and when they refused he attempted to rob them.

As Myers tried to speed away, Mowry allegedly shot him through the driver side window. Myers was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in critical condition.

"He was bleeding pretty bad and they were telling him to put pressure on it," said witness Mike Ehrenberger. "He kept asking if he was going to be alright."

Detectives reportedly arrested the teen when he walked into the crime scene and was identified by a witness.

Mowry is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, attempted homicide, carrying a firearm without a licence and possession of a firearm by a minor.

He is being held on $100,000 bail.
