Police Seek Help Identifying Youngwood Pool Vandals

YOUNGWOOD (KDKA) – State police are investigating after a community pool in Westmoreland County was vandalized.

According to officials, vandals struck the Youngwood Pool and Park Monday morning.

The two suspects can be seen on surveillance video throwing 150-pound concrete benches into the pool, stealing food and causing other damage to the facilities.

Jim Gamberoni and his dog, Buster, were out for a walk and the first ones to notice something was wrong at the pool facility.

"When I walked into the park, I seen the door was open and I knew that wasn't right," said Gamberoni. "We walked up to the door and seen a bunch of papers lying on the floor and saw the window broke."

Once police arrived, Gamberoni says officers discovered two cash registers were also missing.

There have been other incidents at the facility. In 2011, police caught several teens who ransacked the pool.

As for this latest incident, it's still not known how much damage was done.

But the pool is scheduled to open on June 2, and the vandalism is not expected to delay that opening date.

The suspects are described as being two females in their late teens or early 20s.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police in Greensburg at (724)-832-3288.
