Search Called Off For Missing 15-Year-Old Armstrong County Girl

PARKER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - Officials are searching for a missing 15-year-old girl in the Armstrong County and Butler County areas.

Lexis Walker disappeared around 9 p.m. Monday along Locust Lane in Parker Township.

State police and the fire department spent the morning and early afternoon hours searching for her on the ground and from the air in a helicopter.

"We had eight assisting fire departments, state police helicopter, two search dogs doing grid searches in the remote woods located adjacent to the property," said Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Assistant Chief Ryan Enscoe.

Walker apparently disappeared in a wooded area while playing horseshoes.

"The wooded area, with everything growing, is pretty thick and green right now, so it was making it pretty hard to search from the air," said Assistant Chief Enscoe. "That's why state police had requested us to assist with the search on the ground."

Walker is described as being 4-feet-11-inches tall and weighing about 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink hoodie and black yoga pants.

The search for the teen was called off early Tuesday afternoon. There's no word from state police on when it will resume.

If you have information about the whereabouts of Lexis, you are asked to call 911.
