Assault Suspect Runs Over Woman's Foot With Kids Inside Car

YOUNG TWP. (KDKA) -- A 29-year-old Vandergrift man is facing charges after a violent incident in Young Township.

State police received a report Sunday night of a man driving recklessly in the area of State Route 286 and Iselin Road. Four children and a 24-year-old Saltsburg woman were inside the vehicle.

Police say the driver, identified as Nathan Robert Shook, stopped the vehicle.

As the woman was trying to pull the children out, Shook allegedly struck her with the vehicle and ran over her foot.

He was taken to the Indiana County Jail and is charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children and endangering another person.
