Crime Stoppers: Serial Bank Robber Linked To 7 Holdups In East End

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police say they think the same man has managed to pull off at least seven bank robberies in the city, most of them in the East End, in the Squirrel Hill-Greenfield-Shadyside area.

Sgt. Michael Pilyih says the suspect's string of bank heists started about two and a half years ago.

"The photos and videos we've looked at over the course of these robberies show that he has a large nose, and that's one of the features that ties him into the seven robberies," Sgt. Pilyih said.

Sgt. Pilyih told KDKA-TV's Ralph Iannotti, "This guy seems to be familiar with bank operations. He always says to the teller, 'No dye pack.'"

He seems to know his way around, Sgt. Pilyih explained. Police say the suspect makes a quick getaway, and they suspect he may live or work in the area.

The suspect is described as being white, about 5-feet-10-inches tall.
