Police: McKees Rocks Man's Death Considered Suspicious

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA) - Police are investigating after a McKees Rocks man was found dead in his home Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were initially called to a home in the 1200 block of Vine Street after family members were unable to reach 73-year-old Benito Nicoletti for a couple of days.

According to police, when officers made entry into the home, they found Nicoletti dead.

"The family had not been able to get in touch with him for a couple of days. When the police made entry into the home, they found the male deceased under what we would consider suspicious circumstances," Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

Authorities haven't said how Nicoletti died.

A rental car Nicoletti had been driving was missing from outside his home.

This morning, the car was found on Woodward Avenue about a half-mile from Nicoletti's home. The car was towed to collect evidence.

Today, investigators canvassed the neighborhood and spoke with people on the street.

One neighbor said she saw the car when she left for work Wednesday and that it hadn't moved by the time she got home.

Neighbors said this is not the first time violence has struck in the area. In the past three years, a person was shot in the head and killed while in his car.
