Fire Destroys Abandoned Motel Along Route 30

NORTH VERSAILLES (KDKA) -- Fire reduced an old motel to rubble early Wednesday morning.

The fire started around 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Route 30, or Lincoln Highway, in North Versailles.

The building was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived.

Firefighters took a defensive attack and it wasn't long before the building collapsed.

The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause.

Part of Route 30 was shutdown while crews battled the flames.

No one was injured.
