Chef Bill Fuller & Obama Cooking Club's Pizza Recipe

Chef Bill Fuller and the Barack Obama Academy of International Studies teamed up for this delicious pizza recipe!

Pizza With Obama Cooking Club

  • 1 batch Pizza Dough
  • Flour
  • 1 # Mozzarella, sliced thinly
  • 24 ea. Large leaves basil
  • 1 C. Julienned sun dried tomatoes (or 1 C. good tomato sauce)
  • ½ # Thinly sliced prosciutto (or pepperoni, or hard salami, etc.)
  • ½ # Thinly shaved asparagus
  • Parmesan and fine grater
  • Extra virgin olive oil

1) Move oven rack to lowest part of the oven. Place stone on rack and turn oven on to 500. Allow oven and stone to heat thoroughly, at least 20 minutes. (If you have two stones, place them on racks far enough apart that you can work in between them. The second stone will assist in the cooking by radiating heat downwards).
2) Punch down dough and divide into four portions. Form portions into balls and reserve three under a towel.
3) Shape dough into a disk. Using your hands and working at the edge of the dough, stretch it until it is approximately 10" in diameter.
4) Generously coat peel with cornmeal. Place dough onto peel.
5) Cover dough with ¼ of the cheese, basil, tomatoes, sliced meats, and asparagus.
6) Drizzle with approx. 1 Tbs. olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
7) Slide off the peel directly onto the stone.
8) Bake until edges are brown and crisp.
9) Prepare the second pizza while the first is baking.
10) Remove pizza and slice into wedges. Repeat until all pizzas are baked.
