3 Arrested, Heroin & Weapons Seized In New Kensington Drug Raids

NEW KENSINGTON (KDKA) -- Recent drug raids in New Kensington have taken heroin and weapons off the streets in Westmoreland County.

Beka Roditis is a life-long resident of New Kensington. She puts it plainly when it comes to heroin and her hometown.

"I'm afraid to go out at night. I've never been that way before; this is my home," Roditis says. "I had a friend who passed away two weeks ago. It's commonplace, drug overdoses, and it touches every age group. There has to be a way to stop this heroin."

The recent heroin-related deaths have prompted even more action by local law enforcement, as they try to eliminate the supply of the deadly drug.

Over the last few days, New Kensington Police and the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office Drug Task Force have taken down several suspected dealers, including 25-year-old Terrell Houser.

Investigators say they caught him selling suspected heroin at a local gas station. After a struggle, Houser was taken into custody.

Police say Houser, a wanted man already had nearly 500 stamped bags of heroin on him, $1,400 in cash and two guns, one of which was allegedly stolen.

Raiding the home, investigators say they found drug paraphernalia and more than 250 stamped bags of heroin.
