Netflix's "Mindhunter" In Need Of Extras, Holding Open Casting Call

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It's no secret that Pittsburgh's movie scene is booming.

The city has had several big movie shoots in town over the past few years. Now, Netflix is shooting a new series here, and it is looking for extras.

David Fincher's new Netflix crime-drama "Mindhunter" has been filming in Pittsburgh since May.

On Saturday, June 25, they are holding an open casting call for paid extras, and they're looking for people of all ages.

"We're looking for kids from 6-12, we're looking for period cars, we're looking for adults. Any kind of car up into the mid-80s is great," said Angela Citrolla, a casting associate with 'Mindhunter.' "We're looking for all sorts of things."

The casting call will be held at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Downtown Pittsburgh from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. People who want to tryout are encouraged to dress in classic '70s style.

"Try to get your measurements if you can. If not, we're going to have somebody there that can do that because we're doing fittings for everyone on the show," Citrolla said. "Every single extra is handpicked on this show, which is a really cool opportunity."

Extras are expected to be paid $58 for an eight-hour work day, with overtime if filming goes longer than expected.

"We're shooting here in Pittsburgh. We shoot all the way until the end of December, so there's so much time and so many opportunities to get on the show," said Citrolla.

So, if you can't make Saturday's casting call, don't worry, you have other options.
