Arrest Warrant Issued For Former Steelers RB Baron Batch

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – An arrest warrant has been issued for former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Baron Batch.

Pittsburgh Police officers tell KDKA-TV that Batch caused a significant amount of damage with his illegal graffiti on local bike trails.

Batch talked about the graffiti last week saying, "Great artists paint on things. And sometimes great artists paint on things they aren't supposed to. As some of you have recently heard, I broke the rules."

"He stated that just was trying to inspire people, send out a good message. But whether it's a good message or bad message, still not his property, so it is illegal as vandalism," said one officer.

Police say the 28-year-old will be charged with 30 counts of criminal mischief involving graffiti.

Total damages are estimated at $16,200.

While the markings are not what most people think of when they imagine graffiti, those who enjoy the bike trails are not happy with the paint.

"I come here every day, this is just like someone spray-painting my driveway," said one man, who did not wish to be identified.
