Deputies Track Down "Most Wanted" Man Convicted Of Child Abuse

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Sheriff's deputies have tracked down a man who pled guilty to charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children.

In 2014, Douglas Hines, 32, was accused of shaking a 23-month-old child so severely that the child required emergency surgery.  Hines was babysitting the child at Hines' residence at the time of the incident.

Based upon all evidence it was determined that these injuries were consistent only with acceleration/deceleration associated with abusive head trauma, formally known as shaken baby syndrome.

On May 13, 2016, a bench warrant was issued for Hines and deputies have been searching for him since that time.

Hines, 32, was apprehended Monday evening after authorities received an anonymous tip that he was spotted in West Mifflin. He was taken into custody without incident.

Hines was then taken to the Allegheny County Jail where he will be held without bond.
