Franklin Regional Middle School Teacher Charged With Open Lewdness

O'HARA TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A Franklin Regional Middle School teacher is facing charges for allegedly committing lewd acts outside his home.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to a home on High Meadow Drive in O'Hara Township for an indecent exposure report on June 27.

When they arrived, they spoke with neighbors who observed 47-year-old Jeffery Blahusch allegedly committing sexual acts on himself on his back deck.

Neighbors said it wasn't the first time this had happened and showed police four videos they captured as proof. The four videos were taken from June 6-27 and all occurred between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Police spoke with Blahusch at his home on June 27 around 9:45 p.m. When asked about the incidents on his back deck, he placed his head in his hands and began to sweat profusely.

He told officers, "I have ruined our lives and destroyed my family. I am a school teacher and I'm going to lose my job."

According to the school district's website, Blahusch is a sixth grade science teacher and the head coach of the middle school's softball team.

The District released a statement, reading in part, "the Franklin Regional School District was made aware of a situation involving one of its employees. The district stress(es) that this did not involve any Franklin Regional students and did not take place on district property. The district believes it is our obligation to fully cooperate with any investigations."

Blahusch is facing four counts each of indecent exposure and open lewdness.

All neighbors KDKA spoke with declined to go on camera, but one person did say they found him "a little creepy."
