Woman With MS Asks 'Get Marty' For Help Caring For Her Lawn

ROSS TWP. (KDKA) -- When a Ross Township woman battling Multiple Sclerosis and cancer needed help, she reached out to Get Marty.

"I thought 'help, I need help, I've got to call Marty,'" said Marie Rohrer.

The MS makes it very difficult for Marie to get around. She cannot get out in the sun and the MS makes her extremely weak.

"Look, I've always been independent. I like doing all of my own yard work," said Marie.

However, as her mobility and strength became an issue, so did taking care of her yard.

"I have bushes and flowers and grass. I need someone to help me out," she said.

Mike Lepore happens to be that guy.

"Look, I want to help out. I really enjoy this," he said.

Mike owns a small lawn care business. He immediately answered the Get Marty call for help.

"As long as she's here I'll take care of it. I'm really not looking for anything out if it," Lepore said.

Lepore will take care of Marie's yard for free. She is overwhelmed.

"I'm getting angels that keep dropping from the sky. I'm like, 'you're my angel for today'. The halos are just blinding me at this point."

Meantime, nearly a dozen lawn care businesses reached out to us to help Marie.
