One Dead After Car Loses Control In Monongahela

WASHINGTON COUNTY (KDKA) -- One person died after losing control of his car and crashing in Monongahela early Saturday morning.

The Washington County coroner identified the victim as 40-year-old Randall M. Morgan of Monongahela. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 3:36 a.m.

According to the coroner's office, Morgan was driving in the westbound lane of State Route 837 around 2:10 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed into the eastbound lane and struck an embankment. The crash happened on Route 837 between Walnut Street and Columbia Road. The coroner's report says Morgan was unrestrained at the time of the crash.

There was also a passenger in the car at the time of the crash. The passenger was flown to a local hospital in an unknown condition.

The crash is being investigated by the Carroll Township police.
