Man Drives To Hospital After Being Shot In Chest

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man who showed up at a Pittsburgh hospital early Sunday morning with a gunshot wound to the chest has since died from his injuries.

According to police, the 54-year-old man was in critical condition when he arrived at Allegheny General Hospital around 4:10 a.m. and went into surgery. Doctors pronounced him deceased at 7:26 a.m.

Police say he drove himself to the hospital and crashed into several walls as he drove into the emergency room parking area.

The victim's identity has not yet been released, but police say they believe he was a Sheraden resident.
