GoFundMe Page Started For Family Of 6-Year-Old Found Dead

FAYETTE COUNTY (KDKA) — A GoFundMe page has been created for the family of a 6-year-old boy who was pronounced dead in a Fayette County home Tuesday.

State Police and the Fayette County Coroner were called to a home at 430 Cottage Avenue in Smock.

A child who lived there with his father, his dad's girlfriend, and three other children was found in a closet, unresponsive, and could not be revived.

A GoFundMe page was created to raise money for the child's funeral service and burial.

According to the page, the 6-year-old "had gotten tangled up in things that were hanging in there [the closet.]"

However, an investigation is still ongoing.

Richard Bower, the Fayette County District Attorney, refused to describe the home as a crime scene, and was very cautious in what information he was willing to release. He refused to call it "a suspicious death," saying, "Until the investigation is complete, I'm not going to name a determination into how it happened, or what happened."
