Pittsburgh Riverhounds Hosting Pokémon Go Hunt This Weekend

STORY PROVIDED BY THE PITTSBURGH RIVERHOUNDS

PITTSBURGH (Riverhounds.com) -- The Pittsburgh Riverhounds are inviting fans to partake in the Pokémon Go craze this Sunday, July 17.

Preceding round two of the Keystone Derby Cup presented by Pennsylvania Lottery and K&L Gates will be a one-hour on field "hunt" session for all Pokémon fans from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Price of admission will be $10 with partial proceeds going to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The ticket will also include admission to the Hounds match against the Harrisburg City Islanders that night. For fans that have already purchased tickets to Sunday's match, they are welcome to partake in the afternoon festivities and encouraged to donate at the gate.

Tickets may be purchased at will call or can be ordered at Ticketmaster.com using the code: "PokeGo" under the City Islanders match tab.

Releasing in the states this past week, the widely popular app has taken Pittsburgh by storm and Highmark Stadium is one of several PokeStops that Station Square has to offer.

The one-hour session will include plenty of fun for attendees of all ages. Individual Pokémon cards will be handed out at the door to the first 500 in attendance, with whoever obtaining a special "holographic" card receiving a Hounds-related prize. The Highmark Stadium Pub will also be operating starting at 4 p.m. for beverages and then open fully at 5 p.m., offering unique "Poké" drinks. Patrons of age will be given the chance to "evolve" their drinks by adding alcohol for a small fee.

In-game festivities will include a "Guess that Pokémon" contest to upgrade to club seats, as well as halftime Pokémon trivia.
