Woman Charged In Jeannette Man's Suspicious Death

JEANNETTE (KDKA) -- A woman has been charged in connection with the suspicious death of a 19-year-old.

Kahlil Parker was found inside a home in the 660-block of Clay Avenue on June 11.

Parker appeared to have been beaten and was barely alive when found by medics. He died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

According to documents from the Jeannette Police Department, Crystal Belle, 36, is charged with homicide.

Belle initially told police that Parker arrived at her apartment badly beaten and asking for something to eat, but collapsed as she was preparing the food.

Investigators say they found the victim's blood evidence on the second story stairwell, a hand rail in the master bedroom, on a mattress, the carpet, a nightstand and the wall.

A bag in the basement contained bloody clothes and rags. Investigators also identified a bloody hand print on the wall as belonging to Belle.

According to court records, Belle stopped using cell phone once she found out police wanted to talk to her. Additionally, she would only meet family members in public locations in Pittsburgh after she was sure they arrived alone.

Belle told family members she would kill herself rather than let law enforcement taker her into custody.

Neighbor Leonard Lander Sr. said that Belle volunteered at the thrift store he owns.

"I can't believe it," he said. "I've never seen violence from her."

She has been arrested and remains in the Westmoreland County Jail.
