DeAngelo Williams: The Bengals Envy Us

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams caught up with Colin Dunlap of "The Fan Morning Show" this week.

Training camp is drawing closer and officially begins with players reporting to Latrobe next Thursday.

Williams responded to Bengals defensive tackle Domata Peko calling the Steelers "pieces of bleep" last week, taking a shot back at Peko.

"He had a much longer and extended offseason than we did," Williams said. "I thought he'd come up with something better than that."

Williams acknowledged that Cincinnati is a great team, and he said that he's been surprised by how the Bengals have emerged from the shadow of the Steelers and Ravens.

But ultimately, he views the Bengals as posers, a team that's just trying to keep up.

"They try to do what we do," Williams said. "They're trying to emulate themselves after us. It's not the other way around. They want to be us."

"That's what it is. That's what it's always been in the AFC North. Every other team in this division wants to be like us."
