2 People Killed, More Than A Dozen Injured In Florida Nightclub Shooting

FORT MYERS (CBS) -- Two people were killed and as many as 17 people injured early Monday morning in a shooting at a nightclub in Fort Myers, Florida.

CBS station WINK-TV  says it happened around 12:30 a.m. at Club Blu, which was hosting a teen party.

The Fort Myers Police Department says two people are confirmed dead.

The other victims reportedly have injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening.

"Officers arrived on scene and found multiple victims suffering from various levels of gunshot wounds," said Captain Jim Mulligan with the Fort Myers Police Department. " EMS was called and multiple units responded and to help triage and transport patients from the scene."

Police are also on the scene of a second shooting which is reportedly related to the nightclub shooting. One person was shot at that scene along with several vehicles.

Police say three people were taken into custody and they say the area around the nightclub is deemed safe. However, the street around the club will remain closed while police continue their investigation.
