Man Recovering After Being Shot Multiple Times In East Hills

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the East Hills early Monday morning.

Police received a Shot Spotter notification in the 8000 block of Bennett Street around 12:13 a.m.

Moments after the unidentified man was shot, he drove his white SUV to the Shell gas station at the intersection of Frankstown and Fifth Avenues.

Through the course of their investigation, police determined the 29-year-old man had been shot multiple times while in his car on Bennett Street. He attempted to drive himself to the hospital, but only made it as far as the gas station.

While at the gas station, a woman got out from the passenger seat and went inside to ask for help while the victim sat behind the wheel.

A few minutes later, surveillance video shows the victim going inside the business to also ask the clerk to call 911. The SUV was riddled with bullet holes.

The store clerk said the woman riding with the victim disappeared before police arrived.

The man was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was initially listed in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable.

No arrests have been made at this time.
