Couple Charged With Stealing Greensburg Parking Meters
GREENSBURG (KDKA) - Police have arrested two people accused of stealing parking meters in Greensburg.
Police received tips and used surveillance video to identify Candace Billeck and Richard Marco, of Derry Township.
According to police, the couple admitted to stealing almost a dozen parking meters along North Maple Avenue.
"Some were taken off the top of the pole, some were pulled out of the ground with the cement going out with the pole," Greensburg Police Capt. Robert Stafford said.
They told police they were after the loose coins inside. The meters only carry around $4 each.
It cost the city more than $6,500 to repair and replace the meters.
