Reporter In Steelers Gear Called Out By Olympic Champion Michael Phelps

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Michael Phelps further cemented his legacy as the greatest Olympian of all-time with his medal haul in Rio.

He now sits at 23 career gold medals after adding another five during these Olympics.

If you watched him compete this year, you probably knew that already. You may also know that Phelps is a Baltimore Ravens fan.

During a press conference over the weekend, the Maryland native spotted some Pittsburgh Steelers gear and had a little fun with the reporter.

"Is that a Steelers…oh man, golly," Phelps said as he looked away.

Another reporter showed some Ravens love and Phelps gave his seal of approval.

"There we go. There's some Ravens. Man, Steelers…woof. Football season's back," Phelps joked.

He had some more fun when asked about his feelings regarding the well-known rivalry between Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

"I always think we're going to beat Pittsburgh, that's the obvious answer. I think one of the cool things about that is we always play each other really hard. As much as I'm not a Steelers fan, the games are really exciting, we get a lot of intense hits," Phelps said.

In case you were wondering, the Steelers and Ravens won't meet until Week 9 (Nov. 6). Their second and final meeting of the regular season will happen on Christmas at Heinz Field.
