Celebrating its sixth year, the SHALE INSIGHTTM 2016 Conference and Exhibit is returning to the epicenter of the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays Sept. 21-22 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. This year's conference will be a joint partnership between the Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC), the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) and the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association (WVONGA).

"By partnering with key regional trade groups in three of the top energy producing states in the nation, SHALE INSIGHTTM 2016 is sure to be the premier industry conference this year, and will further enhance the conference's programming by highlighting the challenges and opportunities in the Appalachian Basin, presenting greater value to attendees," said MSC president David Spigelmyer. "The SHALE INSIGHTTM conference has been at the forefront of showcasing emerging trends, especially related to technologies and best practices, while bringing together thought leaders, top executives as well as public officials to discuss and offer impactful analysis."

SHALE INSIGHTTM 2016 will focus on the next phase of the shale revolution and will emphasize end use and connecting the market place through infrastructure. The conference will offer participants the opportunity to attend keynote presentations, an interactive and robust exhibit floor, tailored panel discussions, the Technology Showcase and a Natural Gas Use Marketplace, which all present networking opportunities. With continuous progress as well as challenges facing our industry, SHALE INSIGHT™ 2016 offers an opportunity to collaborate with decision-makers on best-practices that will ensure the sustained safety and focused development of Appalachian Basin resources.

"This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our region, and we're excited to be collaborating with the MSC and WVONGA this year for SHALE INSIGHTTM," said OOGA executive vice president Shawn Bennett. "While our industry continues to face significant challenges, the current and future prospects for the Appalachian Basin remain very promising. This conference creates an important forum to exchange ideas, share best practices and heighten the dialogue around common sense energy policies, and we're glad to be part of its continued success."

While shale development is still in its early stages, much opportunity remains if we get the energy equation right. Access and demand for natural gas – as well as natural gas liquids – will be critical in positioning the Appalachian Basin for continued activity and job-creating investment. Expanding these end use opportunities requires continued modernization and expansion of our natural gas infrastructure network to safely connect more consumers with the energy they need to improve our lives and the environment.
